Billboard said that 1989 is the top-selling album of 2023. The second and third top-selling albums of the year are also by Taylor Swift: the 2022 album Midnights and Speak Now Taylor’s Version, which was released in July. According to a statement from Spotify on Saturday on X, Taylor Swift broke all previous records on the day of the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” by becoming the artist with the most streams in a single day in the history of the streaming service.
