Around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Los Angeles police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 4200 block of Crenshaw Boulevard. A gang of youths entered a McDonald’s on Crenshaw Boulevard after the crowds dispersed. During what might have been a routine visit, there was a full-scale raid that included food being thrown at McDonald’s employees, destruction, the theft of a cash register, and other things. The McDonald’s crew eventually gave up and simply withdrew efforts and retreated to safety.
Too $hort, Wale, and two-time Grammy Award winner Jasmine Sullivan were a few of the A-list stars scheduled to perform but were abruptly stopped when multiple stampedes started. Chaos can be seen on video as a group of looters take control of a McDonald’s restaurant in South Los Angeles in the Crenshaw District.
