A new video of Shanquella Robinson of North Carolina, who died after being brutally assaulted at a Mexican resort, shows her smiling with her friends just hours before her death. In the Neighborhood Talk video, she can be heard joking about her friends taking too long to get ready inside their Fundadores Beach Club villa. Instagram users shared the short video.
Shanquella, who arrived at the resort on October 28 with a group of friends, was discovered dead the next day. Her friends initially claimed she died as a result of alcohol intoxication, but her death certificate stated she died 15 minutes after suffering a spinal cord injury. A disturbing video of her being thrashed in a hotel room circulated as well.
Her father, Bernard Robinson, told TMZ on Saturday that he suspected the attack was staged because his daughter was not one to get into fights. However, according to a police report acquired by the Charlotte Observer, Dr. Karolina Beatriz Ornelas Gutiérrez of the American Medical Center remained with the 25-year-old for about three hours before she was pronounced dead.
Medical aid was requested around 2: 00 p.m. on Oct. 29, according to a police report received by the paper via a journalist. The individual who called for aid was identified as Wenter Donovan of Greensboro, one of six pals believed to have traveled to Mexico with Robinson, reports said. According to the article, the doctor stated that Robinson, who had drunk a lot of alcohol, had stable vital signs but was dehydrated and unable to speak. Gutiérrez told the group she wanted to take Robinson to a hospital, but the friends insisted on treating her at the property, where the doctor tried unsuccessfully to administer an IV.

According to the police report reported by the tabloid, Robinson had a short seizure after around an hour. The record states that at 4:20 p.m., the patient’s buddy Donovan called 911 to seek an ambulance. In the meantime, the patient had troubled breathing and a low pulse for which they administered rescue breaths.
Gutiérrez and one of her friends began CPR at about 4:00 p.m., but her heart quickly stopped pumping, according to the Observer. Police reportedly arrived after 5:00 and paramedics performed 14 rounds of CPR, five doses of adrenaline, and six discharges without result.
