Princess Kate Middleton made yet another rare public appearance on Sunday. She attended the Wimbledon finals and handed the trophy to the winner. Princess Catherine has been limiting her public appearances since her cancer diagnosis early this year.
Wimbledon web fans were delighted to see the Princess of Wales and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, at the prestigious tennis match. Kate Middleton received a standing ovation at Centre Court. She acknowledged it with a wave while Charlotte beamed and waved at the audience.
Princess Catherine looked elegant in a purple dress and simple jewelry, including earnings and a bracelet. Princess Charlotte wore a polka-dot dress.
Kensington Palace posted a short video of the royals attending Wimbledon. The Prince and Princess of Wales congratulated Carlos for his victory and thanked everyone who helped make Wimbledon a grand spectacle.
Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte met a few British tennis players, including Emma Raducanu, before heading to the Royal Box at Center Court. The Prince and Princess of Wales keenly follow tennis and take their children along to watch matches during Wimbledon. Her sister, Pippa Middleton, was also present.
Other celebrity stars in the royal box who watched the thrilling match included Tom Cruise and Benedict Cumberbatch. Tennis icon Andre Agassi and London Mayor Sadiq Khan were also at Wimbledon this summer.
Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic in a thrilling final. The Spaniard’s victory was spectacular as he won in three straight sets, not giving Djokovic any opportunity to return.
Princess Catherine, who is the patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, presented the singles trophy to Alcaraz. The Spaniard retained his title as he crushed the former seven-time men’s single Wimbledon winner Djokovic.
Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is in Berlin, Germany. He flew to Europe to support England in their Euro 2024 final match against Spain.
