Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales attended the Trooping of Colour and joined the royal family including King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on the royal balcony at Buckingham Palace on Friday. Trooping of Color is an annual celebration that marks the Sovereign’s official birthday in the U.K. It was celebrated on June 15 this year, although King Charles III’s birthday is November 14. Due to his cancer diagnosis early this year, King Charles was seated in an Ascot Landau carriage to review the troops. In 2023, he reviewed them on horseback. In 2024, Prince William, Prince Edward, and Princess Anne were on horseback. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not invited, the second year in a row.
On Friday, Princess Catherine said she would attend the royal event. On Saturday, she arrived at Buckingham Palace gates in a white carriage, accompanied by her three children. All of them were later seen in the royal balcony along with King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William.
Prince Kate wore a white dress and a white hat. Her jewelry was simple and elegant, consisting of the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch and flower-shaped pear earrings and rings.
Earlier on Friday, Princess Kate shared an update on her health. The June 14 social media post by Kate Middleton mentioned her progress with the cancer treatment. She said that she had both “good days” and “bad days.”
The lengthy post also mentioned that Kate Middleton had to continue her cancer treatment for a few more months.
Princess Kate also mentioned that she was “looking forward to attending the King’s Birthday Parade” and more.
Kate Middleton concluded her post by thanking everyone for their “continued understanding” and more. After getting clearance from her medical team, she is expected to attend a few royal duties this summer.
