The Prince of Wales recently spoke about the continuance of homelessness and the plight of those who sleep on the streets. In a new video, Prince William mentioned that his mother Princess Diana, the late, beloved princess of the U.K. and said that she would be upset about the small amount of progress that has been made to tackle this issue, an issue that was extremely close to her heart.

The Prince of Wales said that his mother Princess Diana used to take both her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry with her when she visited shelters. He also mentioned that she had campaigned on the issue from years and years, until her untimely death in 1997, when she was 36 years old.
Prince William said that his mother Princess Diana had introduced him “to the cause of homelessness from quite a young age” and that he was really glad that she had done so. He added that he thought that “she would be disappointed” that they were “still no further on in terms of tackling homelessness and preventing it than when she was interested and involved in it.”
A short clip of the video, made by Comic Relief, was released on Wednesday. The entire video will be released on Friday. The clip shows Prince William visiting a charity called Groundswell. It is supported by Comic Relief. Recording a podcast has been part of a project called Listen Up! by the charity, Groundswell.
Prince William told two people whom the charity helped, “I’m here really kind of to learn from you both, to hear a bit more about your lived experiences of homelessness.”
