Prince William and Kate Middleton made their first appearance at the 2023 BAFTAs on Sunday with their new titles of Prince and Princess of Wales. They looked stunning as they walked on the red carpet at the awards ceremony held at the Southbank Center, in London. They had been absent from the award function for the past two years, although the prince is a patron of the event. The royal couple looked dashing and also shared some rare PDA.

The 41-year-old princess wore a white, one-shoulder designer gown. She accessorized the Alexander McQueen dress with earrings from Zara and a black clutch. The 40-year-old prince looked debonair as he wore a black suit that consisted of a velvet jacket with ornamental buttons, a black bow tie and a white button-down shirt. He wore matching black shoes. Kate Middleton wore her hair loose and applied minimal makeup.
According to reports, the Princess of Wales had worn the same white gown to the BAFTAs in 2019. She upcycled the dress by adding a shoulder sash. She also added black gloves to the outfit. She changed her accessories such as her earrings and her clutch. Kate Middleton repeats outfits but always makes it a point to change the accessories she uses including jewelry, purses, shoes and more.
It is more than a decade since Prince William became president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Prince Phillip was its first president. Prince William and Kate Middleton missed the awards in 2021 as his grandfather Prince Philip had passed away. In 2022, they had diary constraints that prevented them from attending the awards ceremony.

One other unexpected occurrence at the ceremony was Kate’s PDA with Prince William. A Vogue viral TikTok showed the Princess of Wales playfully patting her husband’s butt. Although the royal couple have exchanged flirtatious looks, a long wedding kiss and more on the rare occasions that they demonstrate their affection in public, this is the first time a playful, yet naughty act has been caught on camera.
