Tuesday’s explosive-wielding gunmen attacked an on-air TV station during the El Noticiero news program in Ecuador, part of a nationwide surge of violence that led President Daniel Noboa to designate 22 gangs as terrorist groups that the military would pursue.

The men were captured on camera as some staff members lay down on the ground, and an individual could be heard yelling, “Don’t shoot!” while the cameras were live streaming.

Witnesses in the coastal city of Guayaquil claimed that police eventually saved the TV crew and detained the 13 gunmen who had broken into TC’s studio during a live broadcast while armed with dynamite grenades and long-range weapons.

A group of terrorists invaded the station ‘TC Television’, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and were not intimidated when they saw the programming happening live, and on camera they threatened to carry out mass murder.
