Six individuals were reported dead in the event, including three adults and three Covenant School pupils in Nashville, Tennessee, according to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Covenant School is a private Christian school that offers kindergarten through sixth grade.
On any given day, there are two hundred pupils enrolled in the school. Audrey E. Hale, the suspect, arrived at the school but left before going into the classroom. After fifteen minutes of arriving on the scene, five officers opened fire and shot the woman dead when they encountered her on the second level.
Metro Police Chief John Drake told CBS news station in an interview, “We strongly believe there was going to be some other targets, including maybe family members, and one of the malls here in Nashville.” Drake added “A search of 28-year-old Audrey Hale’s home turned up additional weapons and more maps pertaining to “maybe some thinking some other incidents”.

Before to Monday’s tragic shooting, Audrey Hale, the Nashville school shooter, allegedly communicated ominous messages to a former middle-school basketball friend.
In a series of direct Instagram messages to Averianna Patton at 9:57 a.m., Hale stated that she intended to kill herself and that she would probably be featured on the news. Patton spoke to WTVF, a Nashville news outlet, on Monday.

According to messages Hale sent, “One day this will make more sense,” the TV station Nashville news station WTVF shared the messages. “I’ve left behind more than enough evidence behind. But something bad is about to happen.”
According to the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), since January 1, there have been at least 130 such events in the US.
