As many people are waiting for Donald Trump’s major announcement at Mar-A-Lago, in Florida, on Tuesday, November 15, daughter-in-law Lara Trump spoke about the 2024 presidential elections in an interview. Eric Trump’s wife mentioned her father-in-law and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and their chances in the upcoming presidential elections and suggested that DeSantis could wait till 2028.
The American former television producer appeared on Sky News Australia, on Sunday. When asked about a possible DeSantis-Trump match-up in 2024 as Trump has hinted that his Tuesday announcement would be an official bid to run for President in 2024, Lara Trump seemingly warned the Florida governor to wait till 2028.
She said that “primaries get very messy and very raw” and it would be better if Ron DeSantis would run for president in 2028 and not possibly fracture the party in 2024.
She described him as “smart” and “young” and questioned “wouldn’t it be nicer for him–and I think he knows this–to wait until 2028?”

Lara Trump also said that she thought that her father-in-law Trump would get Republican support and that the “party would be behind him and I think they know the American people by and large are behind him.” She added that she thought that they were “poised for something very big and very exciting.”
When asked about Trump’s Tuesday plans, she said, “I hope it’s a very historic event.” She added, “If indeed he does decide to run again, then that’s the announcement we hear on Tuesday.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has not indicated, as yet, whether he will run in the Republican primaries in the 2024 presidential elections. However, he did not respond when asked by Democrat Charlie Crist whether he would be a GOP candidate and run in the 2024 primaries. He has received support from conservative media including the New York Post and Fox News network who have lauded his 19-point victory in the gubernatorial elections in Florida and have called out Trump endorsed candidates who lost in the midterms.
