Binance is the largest crypto exchange by trading volume and is also at the forefront of engaging people and educating them about crypto currencies as well as Web3. It has used influencers and celebrity stars to advertise crypto and Web3. On Thursday, Binance announced on Twitter that Khaby Lamé, the most followed creator on TikTok will spread awareness about Web3.
James Rothwell, global vice president of marketing at Binance said in a statement that Khaby was a cultural icon and an entertaining creator, across the world. The statements also said that Binance loved “his charm” and “sense of humor.” The company felt that these qualities would “bring relevance and reliability” as they “scale Web3 adoption.”
Celebrity influencer Khaby Lamé was a factory worker in Italy. During the pandemic, he created short clips on social media that made him very popular. He has more than 143 million followers on TikTok. He also has 78 million followers on Instagram.
Khaby Lamé became popular due to his silent learnfromkhaby clips. He reacts to complicated “life hack” videos by demonstrating an easier, generally obvious way, to perform the same task.
Lamé ends videos with a signature move. The “Khaby Move” sees him shrug his shoulders and a gesture with his hand. The silent move sort off indicates that he is saying “Duh,” according to many.

On Thursday afternoon, Lamé posted his first wordless TikTok with Binance. It has already been played 400,000 times.
In a company statement, Lamé said that he had been “curious about Web3” and was thrilled to join Binance, to make complex stuff easy as well as fun for everyone.
Khaby Lamé is not the only celebrity star to be signed on by Binance. Last week, the crypto giant signed another celebrity–legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
