On Tuesday, Japan made a second attempt to launch its H3 rocket. However, the space mission failed after there were signs of trouble after the first stage of separation. The space agency issued a self-destruct command as it knew that the mission would be unsuccessful. Japan’s space agency JAXA had said that the rocket was a flexible and cost-effective next generation one. Its failure to launch the satellite it was carrying is a low point for the agency.
JAXA’s live feed announced that it appeared as if “the velocity is coming down.” This announcement was made when the H3 rocket was approximately 300 kilometers above the ground. The next announcement from the command center noted that the second stage engine ignition had not been confirmed.
According to Japan Today, the live feed was stopped for a short while and the following message was posted, “We are currently checking the status. Please wait.”
The command center shared disappointing news, after the live feed was resumed. It said, “Destruct command has been transmitted to H3 because there was no possibility of achieving the mission.”
No other explanation was given for the failure of the mission.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries designed the H3 rocket. It was an improved version of the 2001 H-II A model. It was 187-feet high and cost $1.5 billion.
The rocket carried the ALOS-3 satellite, which was expected to help in monitoring disaster management and other activities, according to Japan Today. BBC News said that the satellite was a missile-monitoring one. The rocket’s debris fell into the ocean, close to the eastern coast of Philippines, according to AP.
