Gatorade (PEP) revived an old iconic ad with celebrity Michael Jordan and new athletes, including Caitlin Clark and Jason Tatum. The campaign featured the classic tagline “Is it in you?” in a new commercial. Many famous athletes and sports stars are featured in the ad, which features a voiceover from Michael Jordan.
The ad begins with Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 overall draft pick who has reached new heights in the WNBA, with Michael Jordan’s narration in the background. It then ends with a close-up of Michael Jordan with orange sweat (Gatorade-colored sweat), and his voiceover says, “Gatorade: Is it in you?”

The legendary ad had debuted with six-time NBA Champion Michael Jordan. The five-time NBA MVP and 14-time NBA All-Star has been Gatorade’s longest-standing athlete to represent the sports drink.
The new Gatorade ad speaks to Gen Z athletes and aims to inspire them as they face other pressures, including social media and unrealistic expectations, while they have to focus on their sports. It debuted during the NBA Western Conference Finals Game 4 on May 28 and will continue to run this summer.
A team of scientists at the University of Florida College of Medicine created Gatorade in 1965 to help athletes replace body fluids lost during physical exertion. The earliest version consisted of lemon juice, a mixture of minerals such as sodium, potassium, phosphate, water, and sugar. The body loses electrolytes and water due to sweating.
Gatorade has been owned by PepsiCo since 2001. It is the number one sports drink in several countries worldwide, including the US and Canada.
