Celebrity Kit Harington and his wife Rose Leslie announced that they are expecting their second child together, more than two years after the birth of their first child, a boy.
On Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Game of Thrones alum revealed the news, telling host Jimmy Fallon that his son is “about to get the shock of his life.”
“Which is that he’s about to get a brother or sister,” Harington went on, before Fallon, 48, congratulated him with a handshake.
“I’m terrified,” said the actor. “For nine months, you feel like you’re walking on clouds and dancing through fields of daisies – at least, the man does. But the reality check is much shorter this time. You quickly become practical.”
During the conversation, the actor, best known for playing Jon Snow on HBO’s massively popular Game of Thrones, mentioned having recently attended a fan event for the series, which ended after eight seasons in 2019. “It’s kind of amazing that that show has such a fan base and is still going on in its own way,” he said.
Kit said he and his wife Rose have been trying to explain to their toddler that he is going to have a sibling but he “doesn’t quite conceptually understand it just yet”.
“We’re trying to get him ready for it, and we point at Rose’s belly and say, ‘Mummy’s baby, mummy’s baby,’ and he points at his tummy and says, ‘My baby, my baby,'” he explained.
