A major explosion damages a historic hotel in Havana, Cuba- The Saratoga Hotel. We are still waiting on how many were injured and how many have died. So far eight people have been killed. That number may be updated later as the officials review the scene.
The blast at the Saratoga Hotel in Old Havana may have been caused by a gas leak, officials have reported. The hotel is a historic building and was supposed to re-open in about four days after it was approved past the pandemic.

The police and rescue workers are at the scene to see if people are under rubble and any debris the explosion caused.
Cuba’s President Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived at the scene as he was at the government’s old congressional building. The President Miguel Diaz-Canel stated, “It was not a bomb or an attack, it’s an unfortunate accident.”

A school that is located behind the building was not touched.
