Celebrity George Clooney and Brad Pitt attended a press conference on Sunday in Venice. Jon Watts directed the action/comedy Wolf, which featured Clooney and Pitt and premiered at the Venice Film Festival over the weekend. The duo, who are real-life friends, riffed each other at the conference.
Clooney also discussed their salaries. An earlier report in a popular outlet mentioned that the stars earned more than $35 million, and web fans wondered if this was true. CWEB reports on their press conference.
During their press conference in Venice, Italy, the General Hospital alum said that he and Pitt returned part of their salaries after a deal for a theatrical release fell through. He also confirmed that they did not receive a salary of more than $35 million, as the New York Times reported.
George Clooney said their salary was “millions and millions and millions of dollars less than what was reported.”
He also said this because he thought it was “bad for our industry if that’s what people think is the standard bearer for salaries” and more.
George Clooney, who had written an op-ed for the NYT titled “I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee”, commented in public for the first time after this op-ed at the Wolfs’ press conference in Italy.
He described President Joe Biden’s elevation to the Democratic presidential nomination as “the most selfless thing anybody has done since George Washington” and more.
George Clooney and Brad Pitt play competing fixers in Jon Watt’s directed movie Wolfs. They are accidentally given the same job, and the film follows their actions and comedies as a result of their competition for it.
Wolfs starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and other celebrity stars, will have a limited theatrical release on September 20 and be launched on Apple TV Plus on September 27, 2024.
