The California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Major Crimes Unit in Torrance detained a man driving a Tesla who had been terrorizing areas of Southern California with violent outbursts of road rage on Sunday night. The EV-driver previously gained notoriety after being connected to a number of car attacks that happened on Southern Californian motorways, including one in West Hollywood in June that involved a fight between the man and a woman who was in the car with her 93-year-old mother.
The 36-year-old Tesla driver, identified as Nathaniel Walter Radimak, is suspected of using a pipe to attack other drivers’ cars in the Los Angeles region. He has been booked for assault with a deadly weapon and two unspecified warrants while incarcerated in a Los Angeles Police Department jail. He is being held on a $5,175,000 bond.

According to the CHP, on January 11, 2023, Radimak is thought to have been operating a black 2022 Tesla Model X on State Route 2 near York Boulevard in Los Angeles when he allegedly committed assaults that were captured on a dashboard camera. Videos of the suspect smashing a car on Glendale’s 2 Freeway with a pipe were captured.
After the 2 Freeway incident victim came forward, other people started talking about their own interactions with the same man. Internet sleuths also shared the video on their own pages and some others shared the clips they had recorded, after noticing one video going viral. At least ten people have come forward, reporting terrifying encounters with the man, and several of them have video of him slamming cars with a metal pipe.
Radimak was taken into custody for two outstanding warrants as well as assault with a deadly weapon. He is accused of attacks that involved him getting out of his Tesla, approaching a vehicle with a metal pipe in hand, breaking the vehicle’s doors and windows, and then getting back into his Tesla and driving away.
In October 2021, the suspect reportedly punched a woman in the face during one of his attacks, leaving her with a black eye. Another victim who had her tires cut off in March in West Hollywood expressed gratitude for the attention the attacker has since received.
According to CHP officials, Radimak was eventually apprehended thanks to several leads and dash camera footage. Sunday’s arrest was reportedly only related to the assault on the 2 Freeway on January 11. The inquiry is still ongoing.
