Celebrity musicians gathered together at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday evening. The galaxy of celebrity performers was at the center as several musical legends were inducted into the Roll & Roll Hall of Fame. Some legends were also present to perform or to introduce the 2023 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or to perform at the prestigious event.
The event began with a performance by Sheryl Crowe and Olivia Rodrigo. They played the guitar while belting out Crowe’s super hit If It Makes You Happy. Celebrity actress Laura Dern was on stage to honor Crowe. Celebrity Sheryl Crowe said it was “surreal as well a big honor” to be inducted with Willie Nelson whom she admired a lot. She also mentioned her sons and the late celebrity Jimmy Buffet.
Celebrity musician Dave Matthews was on stage to honor Willie Nelson. Nelson thanked everybody for the honor and performed some of his super hits with Chris Stapleton. Celebrity honorees Sheryl Crowe and Willie Nelson also performed the hit “Crazy” on stage.
Celebrity Missy Elliot received a tribute from Queen Latifah on stage. She thanked God for bringing her to this level and for allowing her to meet “some incredible people along the way. She performed many hits including Get Ur Freak On, Work It and other songs.
Celebrity singer George Michael was posthumously inducted by his former Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley and received tributes from celebrity musicians Miguel, Adam Levine and Carrie Underwood.
Celebrity Big Boi inducted Kate Bush who didn’t attend the ceremony but released a written statement on her website where she said that she was “completely blown away” by “this wonderful accolade.”
