The King of Rock and Roll remains alive in the hearts of his enormous fan base. They continue to enjoy various portrayals of Elvis on screen, the latest movie being Baz Luhrmann directed Elvis starring Austin Butler that was released in 2022. This year, an animated version of Elvis Presley as a secret agent will soon be streamed as a series. It will star celebrity Matthew McConaughey as Elvis Presley.
On Monday, Netflix said that Matthew McConaughey had been confirmed to play Elvis Presley in the animated series called Agent Elvis. When the project was initially announced in 2019 it had the title Agent King with Elvis’ former wife Priscilla Presley and celebrity rock star John Eddie.

The Hound Dog singer will remain as a rock and roll star in the day, while he turns into a super spy in the night. His sidekick will be his pet chimp Scatters. Agent Elvis will be part of a secret government program. This secret project combats forces that threaten his country.

They are also executive producers along with a host of others including McConaughey himself. Mike Arnold is the head writer, while fashion designer John Vravatos has designed Elvis’ look in the animated series.
The animation in Agent Elvis has been made by Robert Valley, who is an Oscar nominee. Sony Pictures Animation, who also made Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is the animation studio for this first adult animation.

Agent Elvis is expected to stream on Netflix, in March. Matthew McConaughey’s fans can look forward to hearing the Texan’s drawl transform into the velvet smoothness and baritone of Elvis Presley’s original voice.
A description of the cartoon by Netflix reads, “Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jetpack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves–all while holding down his day job as the King Of Rock and Roll.”
The adult, animated series by Netflix has also been described as “offbeat” and “violent” as well as “raunchy.”
