As a jury deliberates in his defamation claim against ex-wife Amber Heard, celebrity Johnny Depp joined rocker Jeff Beck onstage for a concert at Sheffield City Hall in Sheffield, England. On Sunday night, the pair performed renditions of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” and John Lennon’s “Isolation,” among other songs, with Depp on guitar. The pair recently released a single of their cover of “Isolation.”
On Tuesday, at the Royal Albert Hall, the actor again shared the stage alongside British guitarist Beck. They played, among other things, the John Lennon song Isolation, on which they collaborated in 2020. Beck has stated that fans will hear more from Johnny and him soon. He hopes people will find comfort and solidarity in their interpretation of the Lennon classic. Concertgoers had mixed feelings about the performance.
The jury deliberations in Depp’s high-profile case against Heard resumed and the jury has been reportedly given a verdict sheet containing 42 questions that it needs to answer before reaching a decision. The court in Fairfax, Virginia, unsealed the eight-page document, which shows that there are 24 questions for Depp’s accusations and 18 for Heard’s counterclaim. There will also be a phase where they must decide on the damages for Depp and Heard, as well as any punitive damages. Both parties are asking for at least $350,000

The verdict sheet, known as a ‘Special Verdict Form,’ poses eight questions to the jury about each of the three statements at issue in Heard’s op-ed about abuse and sexual violence. For Heard’s accusations against Depp, the jury must answer six questions about each of the three remarks made to the media by Depp’s lawyer, Waldman, in 2020.
After six weeks of detailed and emotional evidence regarding Depp and Heard’s four-year romance and 15-month marriage, the jury is currently deliberating on the case. Depp is suing Heard for $50 million for allegedly defaming him in an op-ed published in the Washington Post in 2018 that claimed she was a survivor of domestic abuse.
Even though it did not address him by name, the Pirates of the Caribbean star believes it was clearly about him. Heard countersued for $100 million, saying that Depp’s lawyer, Adam Waldman, defamed her by calling her allegations an “abuse fabrication.”
A decision is expected in the following days.
