Celebrity Daniel Craig’s mystery movie Glass Onion took the No. 1 position, on Netflix, last weekend. The Knives Out sequel debuted on the streaming platform, on Friday and garnered 82.1 million hours viewed on its first three days on the platform. It is estimated that the movie was streamed in 35 million households in more than 93 countries.
The movie had a short, one-week only limited theatrical release, Thanksgiving week and earned more than $13 million as per data from Box Office Mojo.

Earlier, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that they missed out on a lot of money due to its short run in theaters but added that it was a “promotional tactic like film festivals.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hastings also admitted at a panel, in November that if this tactic “worked well” they would continue with it but reaffirmed that they were “not trying to build a theatrical business” but were “trying to break through the noise.”
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a sequel to the Lionsgate film Knives Out released in 2019. The giant streamer reportedly paid $450 million to writer/director Rian Johnson and celebrity actor Daniel Craig for the rights to two sequels of Knives Out. Fans are super excited.
