Beyoncé dropped a single track Break My Soul, on Monday. Queen Bey gave fans a surprise as the new single from her seventh album Renaissance was released three hours before schedule. Fans were thrilled with the driving dance track that was co-produced by Tricky Stewart and The Drink who worked with her on super hit Single Ladies. It also had contributions from Freddie Ross a.k.a Big Freedia.
Queen Bey is back with a a strong message; in the lyrics as well as a peppy disco beat. It has dance floor friendly lyrics and beats. It initially appeared on Tidal–the streaming service that is co-owned by husband, Jay-Z, bypassing major streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify. It was released on Tidal, three hours before its scheduled release time of midnight ET and was on Vevo/YouTube, approximately one hour later.
Many writers have been credited in the song including S. Carter (husband Jay-Z), Adam Pigott (collaborator with Drake, Megan Thee Stallion and more) and Freddie Ross, who also performs in Break My Soul. Big Freedia was excited about the project and had said, “I’m so honored.” Break My Soul heavily sampled Show Me Love which is Robin S’ s top five hit song in 1993 and credit has been given to its songwriters Allen George and Fred McFarlane.
Beyoncé is famous for her vocals. In the new track, she shows her rapping skills, as well! And there’s more in store as reports said that this seventh album Renaissance is a collaboration with several artistes and also features different genres of music. Disco beats and rap have already been featured in the first single, Break My Soul, of the upcoming album. It will also have country music, as per reports.
