Irvine has been known to be one of the safest cities nestled in Orange County California just a few miles from Newport Beach. Crime can happen anywhere, and thieves have no boundaries to commit their crimes.
And it must be horrifying for any employee and store patrons to experience a smash and grab robbery- and that is what happened here during daylight Monday. Sadly, this is what American is faced with in today’s world. One of the most horrific robberies happened at Jewels by Alan, located at 2963 Michelson Drive in Irvine, California.
Before hopping into a waiting car and escaping the scene, they shattered twelve display cases and stole merchandise worth more than $900,000 from the business.
They may be linked to at least two recent heists that occurred in the past several weeks, one in Downey and the other in Ontario, according to investigators.
#IRVINEPDPIO – On Monday, July 31, at 12:20 p.m., three male black suspects dressed in black masks and clothing entered a jewelry store near Jamboree Rd. and Michelson Dr. They smashed display cases with hammers and stole almost $900,000 worth of jewelry. If you have any pic.twitter.com/nPoyuj3bkZ

“The fact that they would be willing to come in, in broad daylight, with customers in the store as well as three employees, basically stepping over the customers as they’re smashing the glass and taking the property just shows you that there’s just no regard for anybody’s safety or our justice system,” said IPD Sergeant Karie Davies. “They feel they’re not going to get caught.”
It’s been reported that the string of smash and grab robberies across the US may be the result of a cartel gang.
