Tyler Harris scored 23 points, making all four of his 3-point attempts, as Washington snapped a six-game losing streak and earned its first Big Ten Conference road victory by defeating Minnesota 71-68 Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis.

Great Osobor added 16 points and 10 rebounds and Zoom Diallo had 11 points and five assists for the Huskies (11-10, 2-8 Big Ten). Mekhi Mason scored 10, including two clinching free throws with 5.9 seconds remaining.

Dawson Garcia scored a game-high 28 points for the Golden Gophers (11-11, 3-8), who dropped their second in a row after three straight wins. Femi Odukale was the only other Minnesota player to reach double digits with 10 points.

The Golden Gophers trailed by 10 at halftime but took a 52-51 lead with 8:13 left after Garcia scored 14 straight points for Minnesota. Washington pulled back ahead until Garcia made 1 of 2 free throws with 2:44 left to tie the score at 64-all with 2:44 remaining.

Osobor was fouled while trying to grab an offensive rebound and made one free throw to put the Huskies up 65-64. He added a tip-in that boosted the lead to three with 1:32 to play.

After turning it over on three straight possessions, the Golden Gophers got one back and pulled within 67-66 on Garcia’s layup with 12 seconds left.

Davis was fouled with 9.7 seconds to go and made both free throws to make it a 3-point game. Garcia missed two free throws with 7.2 seconds remaining and Mason converted his two attempts to put the Huskies up 71-66.

Garcia made a last-second dunk to cap the scoring.

Harris scored 15 points in the first half as Washington took a 40-30 lead at intermission.

A 3-pointer by Garcia sparked an early 7-0 run as the Golden Gophers took a 9-3 lead. A turnaround jumper by Diallo gave the Huskies a 24-23 lead with just under eight minutes left in the half. A putback by Wilhelm Breidenbach and a jumper and 3-pointer by Harris capped a 9-0 Washington spurt.

Harris and Mason closed the half with 3-pointers as the Huskies extended their lead to double digits.

Garcia was limited to five points in the first half as he picked up two fouls and played just 10 minutes.
