Safety regulators have warned consumers not to use the Peloton treadmill after a child has passed away and an additional 40 injuries have been reported. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated they received reports of children and a pet being pulled, pinned, and trapped under the rear roller of the Tread+ treadmill by Peloton. Injuries such as scrapes and fractures have occurred, and also injuries that caused the death of one child.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that the treadmill be locked in a separate room where pets and children cannot access it. The Commission also recommends keeping rolling equipment away from the treadmill, such as exercise balls that may roll towards the equipment. They also recommended not having a child in the room, even if the parent is on the treadmill.
The popular treadmill called the Treadmill + by Peloton comes with a cost of $4000.

Peloton had $1 billion in revenue in the last three months of 2020, which is more than double its revenue from the same period a year before. The use of in-home workout equipment has become extremely popular since the pandemic as people were not able to access gyms and wanted to work out at home.
