On Tuesday, Walmart announced that it would launch eight talkshoplive shopping experiences as well as regular programming through March. This partnership exemplifies the use of social shopping to enhance growth of brands as well as marketers. The partnership hopes not only to improve the shopping experience but to also increase sales numbers.
Casey Schlaybaugh, Vice President of Brand at the big box retailer said that Walmart was expanding its partnership with talkshoplive “as a scalable live commerce solution for businesses and creators of all sizes.” The Vice President also said that the initial success of their launch had been exciting and they would bring “both entertainment and product information to one place.”
The talkshoplive videos are embedded in the Walmart site. Walmart customers can buy the products within the content in the video. The integration also lets all the partners whose products are distributed by the big box retailer to produce and share their live content. This improves the awareness of the brand and also increases the number of sales as customers can click on the video itself, to buy the products.
Talkshoplive CEO and Co-founder Bryan Moore called Walmart a leader and innovator in the live shopping space. He said that their partnership created shopping experiences that everybody would talk about.
The Bentonville, Arkansas based retailer is using several modern and popular programming methods to get its U.S. based customers to adopt live shopping, which is extremely popular in Asia. Walmart is now using video, social media as well as celebrities to drive sales higher than before. The live shopping experiences will focus on makeup, dog food as well as toys and baby products.
Walmart will conduct the following events:
Black-Founded Brands Week between February 15 to February 18
Baby Days from February 22 to February 25
Women Entrepreneurs Week from March 8 to March 21.
