Walgreens says the new store experience is not to deter theft while the products behind a kiosk would seem to be the most stolen. The concealed goods, such as cosmetics, beer, wine, and spirits, hair color products, and gift cards, may only be bought through the kiosk system that has already been installed in the store. The majority of the other items are kept in an area of the drugstore chain that is off-limits to customers and where you would expect to find them.
