Juke Harris recorded a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds and Mekhi Mason added 17 points to lead Wake Forest to a dominant 83-67 road win over Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Wednesday, snapping a five-game losing streak.

Cooper Schwieger scored a season-high 13 points and Tre’von Spillers added 13 points and four rebounds. Myles Corvin also flirted with a double-double with seven points and nine rebounds.

Kowacie Reeves Jr. led the way for Georgia Tech (11-14, 2-10) with 18 points, including 14 in the first half. Baye Ndongo finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.

A Harris 3-pointer to open the second half started an 11-0 run. The surge was finished off with a Schwieger layup to give Wake Forest a 48-33 lead with 16:42 remaining.

Georgia Tech was able to get within 10 at 55-45, but the Demon Deacons always found an answer to extend the lead.

An 8-0 run, which included Harris’ third 3-pointer of the night, ultimately put the game away for Wake Forest as it raced out to a 69-49 lead with 7:31 remaining.

Wake Forest shot 63% from the floor in the second half and went 13 of 28 from long distance in the contest, helping the visitors outscore Georgia Tech 46-34 in the second half.

Led by eight first-half points from Mason, Wake Forest took a 37-33 lead into the break. The Demon Deacons shot 42.3% from the floor in the first half, including 7 of 16 from 3-point range.

Despite its hot scoring most of the half, Wake Forest didn’t score a field goal for the last three minutes of the first half. The Demon Deacons, however, displayed their defensive prowess, forcing Georgia Tech to miss five consecutive field goals during that span to maintain the lead.

The Yellow Jackets were aided by a 6-0 run late in the first half to cut their deficit to 33-32 with 2:22 left. Georgia Tech went 6 of 13 from long distance in the opening 20 minutes.

Georgia Tech has lost six consecutive games.
