Cameron Hildreth broke a late tie with two free throws, Hunter Sallis added a pair 21 seconds later and Wake Forest completed a season-series sweep of host Stanford with a 79-73 triumph on Wednesday.

Hildreth led all scorers with 22 points and Sallis added 19 for the Demon Deacons (17-6, 9-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who beat Stanford 80-67 in Winston-Salem, N.C., last month.

Maxime Raynaud amassed 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for the Cardinal (15-8, 7-5), who lost their second straight.

In a tightly contested game in which neither team led by double figures, Stanford went up 65-62 with six minutes remaining before getting outscored 17-8 the rest of the way.

A layup by Stanford’s Chisom Okpara with 1:42 to go produced the game’s last tie, but Hildreth drew a foul on Wake Forest’s next possession and gave the visitors the lead with 1:20 to go by sinking his two foul shots.

Anthony Batson Jr. had a chance to put Stanford back on top, but he misfired on a 3-point attempt with 59 seconds left. Sallis then doubled the margin with his free throws.

After Oziyah Sellers and Raynaud both failed on 3-point shots, Wake Forest’s Ty-Laur Johnson dropped in a pair of free throws with 43 seconds left. The Demon Deacons were able to coast home as Stanford missed eight of its last 10 shots while mixing in four turnovers.

Sallis went 7-for-9 at the line and Hildreth 6-for-8 for the Demon Deacons, who made 25 of their 33 free throws, outscoring the hosts 25-19 at the stripe.

Sallis also found time for a team-high seven rebounds and a team-high five assists.

Tre’Von Spillers added 12 points for Wake Forest, which won a second straight game after back-to-back defeats.

Raynaud registered his nation-leading 19th double-double of the season despite shooting just 4-for-11 overall and 1-for-7 from 3-point range. He also had a team-high six assists and three steals.

Okpara chipped in with 14 points, Ryan Agarwal 12 and Sellers 10 for Stanford, which lost at home for the first time in ACC play.
