Juke Harris made five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points while Mehki Mason scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half and added a team-high nine rebounds as Wake Forest defeated Campbell 99-51 on Tuesday night in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Tre’Von Spillers had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Demon Deacons (5-2), who won for the fourth straight time by double figures at home. Myles Colvin chipped in 13 points for his fifth straight double-digit effort.

Wake Forest was coming off a 1-1 performance at the Baha Mar Championship in the Bahamas last week. The Demon Deacons lost by one to No. 15 Texas Tech and beat Memphis on Colvin’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer.

This matchup did not require such theatrics.

Mason equaled his season average when he scored 11 points in the first five minutes. Wake Forest went on a 16-4 run to start the game and took control with a commanding 17-0 run that gave the Demon Deacons a 44-16 lead late in the first half.

Wake Forest was up 50-23 at halftime.

Nate Calmese had a game-high seven assists and scored all eight of his points in the second half for Wake Forest, while Omaha Biliew came off the bench to score nine points. The Demon Deacons’ bench outscored Campbell’s reserves 39-12.

The Fighting Camels (3-4) missed their first five shots and trailed the entire game. D.J. Smith, Campbell’s leading scorer who had tallied 20 or more points in four straight games, was held to a season-low five.

Chris Fields Jr. led the team with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Dovydas Butka contributed 12 points and five boards.

The Demon Deacons improved to 65-10 at LJVM Coliseum since 2021, tying them with Kentucky and Tennessee for the fourth most home wins over that period.

Despite their campuses sitting about 120 miles apart, this was the first meeting between the schools in 25 years. Wake Forest improved to 7-0 in the series.
