On Wednesday, sports footwear giant Nike (NKE) announced a new event on its Web3 platform–the launch of. SWOOSH Studio. The creative director of the new studio on Web3 is its fans who become creators. The global footwear company announced its first co-creation opportunity. It said that it wanted to expand how a creator is defined and said that it is. SWOOSH studio contest put creative storytelling above creative skills.
The announcement by Nike’s Web3 platform also contained information about what it called YourForce1challenge. It asked. SWOOSH members to build a visual storyboard on social media, Instagram. The company would select their four favorite submissions.
These four creators will get $5000 each. They will also get an invitation to collaborate directly with designers from Nike. A 1:1 new virtual creation will be built with inspiration from their submissions.
Nike also said that that they are close to releasing their first signature collection. These creators’ designs may also feature as part of the future drop by the company. If a sneaker design becomes part of the drop, the submitter would be considered as a co-creator and would sign a contract. This could allow the co-creator to earn royalties from every sale of the chosen design.
The global sportswear brand provided all the necessary details for submission on its website. The contest began on January 26 and closes on January 29.
Nike has been a pioneer in the Web3 space. It has strategized its entry into Web3 and acquired RTFKT, a digital fashion house in the metaverse. More than two years ago, it had mentioned that it would start testing RFID linked to blockchain technology so that it could trace its supply chain process.
