Celebrity actor Jeremy Renner has expressed gratitude to the staff at his intensive care unit for “starting this journey” as he recovers from a serious snow-plough accident. On his Instagram story, the superstar actor, who turns 52 today, shared a photo from the hospital with hospital staff and family members. He has been reportedly awake and talking as of Tuesday.
“I’d like to thank the Renowned Medical ICU team for starting this journey,” he wrote. This latest recovery update comes after Jeremy posted a video on social media on Thursday from his ICU bed.
In the video, Renner was bruised under the eye and appeared sedated as his sister massaged his scalp and joked, ‘You’re so sexy.’ The Marvel actor, in slurred speech, replied that it had been his first shower and he was feeling weak. He captioned the video: ‘A “not no great” ICU day, turned to amazing spa day with my sis and mama. Thank you sooooo much.’
The actor, who was critically injured in the accident, underwent two surgeries in which metal pins were placed around his leg.
According to police, the actor was assisting a family member in removing a car from heavy snow when he was run over by his own six-tonne ploughing machine. The actor exited the vehicle to speak with an unidentified family member, during which time, according to Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam, ‘the PistenBully [snow plough] began to roll.’ He attempted to re-enter the vehicle but was quickly run over.

According to a statement provided by his publicist to the PA news agency, he was airlifted to the hospital on Sunday after suffering “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” in the accident.
Renner’s family had come to see him for the New Year at his hamlet home near Mount Rose, Nevada, where he lives. The locality had been buried under snow, about five feet deep. When the accident happened on New Year’s Day, residents had been without power and running water for two days. Renner, who owns a fire truck, plough, and other heavy machinery, dispatched a snowcat to help clear some of the snow on January 1. Fans are super excited for him.
