Former VCU forward Jalen DeLoach announced Saturday that he is heading home and transferring to Georgia.
The Savannah, Ga., native averaged 9.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in 34 games (32 starts) for the Rams in 2022-23.
The 6-foot-9 DeLoach chose the Bulldogs after considering Penn State, Florida State, Wake Forest and others.
“I chose Georgia because I believe in the plan that Mike White and his staff have for me,” DeLoach told 247Sports. “They recruited me the hardest throughout this whole process and I felt like it was home here. I’m ready to put Georgia basketball back on the map and make a big run in the NCAA Tournament next year and also win an SEC championship.”
DeLoach played two seasons at VCU, averaging 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds in 65 games (33 starts). He made the All-Atlantic 10 third team last season.
