Vanderbilt registered a season high in points in a 93-55 blowout of Southeastern Louisiana on Friday evening in Nashville, Tenn.

The Commodores (7-6) led by 24 or more points for the entire second half. They hit 14 of their 37 3-point attempts (37.8 percent) compared to the Lions’ 1 of 19 (5.3 percent).

Fourteen Commodores scored, with Noah Shelby leading the team with 12 points and Ezra Manjon adding 10.

Southeastern Louisiana forward Brody Rowbury scored a game-high 18. The Lions got 10 from guard Boogie Anderson, who left the game with 11:51 left with an apparent leg ailment.

Vanderbilt’s Trey Thomas nailed a 3 to open the second-half scoring and canned another with 17:35 left, providing the first 30-point lead of the evening at 55-25.

Midway through the second half, the Commodores had cleared the bench and rested their starters.

Nine Commodores scored in the first half as Vandy took a 47-23 advantage heading into the locker room. Vanderbilt was 7-of-17 (41.2 percent) from 3 in the first period.

The Commodores took the first double-digit lead of the night when Manjon hit a reverse layup with 9:20 left in the half, making it 23-12.

That lead became 15 when forward Colin Smith hit a corner 3 from the right side with 5:21 left.

Smith followed with another one on the Commodores’ next possession to make it 35-19, and Jordan Wright got one on Vandy’s next trip to extend the advantage to 19.

Tyrin Lawrence hit a layup one trip later for a 40-19 edge, the Commodores’ first 20-point lead.

Lawrence, the team’s third-leading scorer coming in (10.7 points per game), scored seven points in 15 first-half minutes but spent the second half on the bench in street clothes with no visible injury. Vanderbilt did not provide an update on Lawrence’s situation in the second half.

Southeastern Louisiana’s Christian Agnew, who didn’t play in the Lions’ win over Southern in their last game on Dec. 21, started on Friday and scored six points.
