The suspect accused of fatally shooting a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband—and injuring a state senator and his wife—has been captured and formally arraigned, according to CWEB News.
Vance Bolter, 57, the alleged gunman, was apprehended following an intense manhunt involving local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Authorities describe the Minnesota shootings as a targeted political attack and a possible hate crime.
Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman, Speaker of the House and a leading Democrat, and her husband were both killed in the attack. State Senator John Hoffmann and his wife were also shot but survived after undergoing emergency surgery.
Police identified Bolter as the shooter and discovered evidence suggesting premeditation. A search of his vehicle uncovered a disturbing list of 45 potential targets, all reportedly Democratic lawmakers or officials. Investigators also recovered flyers reading “No Kings”, a Father’s Day card, and a bag filled with ammunition.

Bolter, a former security contractor with military-style weapons training, had been the focus of a statewide alert. The Minnesota State Patrol had urged the public to avoid political gatherings and remain alert while the suspect remained at large.
The attack has drawn condemnation from across the political spectrum. Statements denouncing the violence were issued by President Donald Trump, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, former President Joe Biden, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and numerous members of Congress.
