VALORANT News: Gen.G rally to beat Heretics in Masters Shanghai final

Gen.G Esports rallied for a 3-2 win over Team Heretics on Sunday in the final of the $1 million Valorant Champions Tour 2024 Masters Shanghai event in China.

Gen.G opened with a 13-6 win on Breeze but lost momentum as Heretics answered with 13-9 wins on both Icebox and Ascent. Gen.G leveled with a 13-4 victory on Lotus before sprinting to the title with a 13-3 win on Split.

Na-ra “t3xture” Kim posted 85 kills and a plus-18 kill-death differential and Tae-o “Meteor” Kim added 84 kills and a plus-17 differential to lead Gen.G. The other members of their all-Korean lineup included Jong-min “Lakia” Kim, Won-tae “Karon” Kim and Sang-beom “Munchkin” Byeon.

Enes “RieNs” Ecirli of Turkey led the Heretics with 65 kills and a minus-1 K-D differential.
