Unity Software Inc. (NYSE:U) announced price increases for some of its subscription plans, starting October 13, which represents its first subscription price increase for its game engine tools in three years.
Compared to the last price hike, this time Unity Plus ($399/year) is not affected. Also, Unity is providing more offerings to Pro and Enterprise subscribers that will see higher prices, which include Unity Mars (for AR content) and Havok Physics (game engine middleware for collision physics), and additional technical support.
Analysts at Oppenheimer expect the price increase to have little impact on 2022 results and provide incremental support to the revenue growth outlook in 2023. Most of the company’s existing customers are engaged in contracts for over a year. Therefore, the price increases are not expected to impact 2022 but will contribute in 2023 and beyond.
