Umar Nurmagomedov extended his unbeaten streak to 16-0 with a knockout finish over Raoni Barcelos at UFC Fight Night 217 on Saturday night at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nev.

Nurmagomedov also improved to 4-0 since signing with UFC with his knockout of Barcelos (17-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) at 4:40 of the first round.

It was the opening fight of the main card, and the result was never in question.

Nurmagomedov, 26, entered as the No. 11-ranked bantamweight and a heavy favorite against the 35-year-old Barcelos. The Russian dropped the five-time Brazilian national wrestling champion with a left hook to the jaw, and the referee stopped the fight after Nurmagomedov landed a few punches on the mat.

Nurmagomedov has now finished three of his first four opponents in the UFC. Who he faces next in the octagon remains to be seen.

After defeating Trevin Jones in October, Barcelos has now lost three of his past four fights.
