UConn center Donovan Clingan will be sidelined at least three-to-four weeks with a tendon injury in his right foot, the school announced Saturday.
Clingan sustained the injury during the fifth-ranked Huskies’ 75-60 loss to Seton Hall on Wednesday. The 7-foot-2 center did not participate in practice the following two days, with coach Danny Hurley telling reporters that the team was awaiting results of the MRI.
Clingan has been ruled out for UConn (10-2, 0-1 Big East) in Saturday’s home game against St. John’s (8-3, 1-0) in Hartford, Conn.
Clingan is averaging 13.9 points and 6.3 rebounds in 12 games this season for the Huskies. He came off the bench in all 39 appearances last season, averaging 6.9 points and 5.6 rebounds in over 13.2 minutes per game.
