The ride-hailing company announced on Tuesday that it added new product features to its app to make it easier for users to find their Uber vehicle more easily than before.
Uber said it has added step-by-step instructions in its app. These instructions would help users navigate through the airport and would help them to move seamlessly from the gate to the location of their Uber pick-up.
Uber said that the new instructions are available at more than thirty global airports, to start with and the firm would expand the availability. Feature photos will display the environs of the airport you are in as you make your way to your Uber ride.
Uber also said that the new update on its app will try to reduce traffic congestion as well as the idle time spent by drivers on the curb.
Currently the new service is available in major US airports including the following:
New York City (John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty)
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
San Francisco International Airport
Miami International Airport
Atlanta (Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
On Tuesday, Uber also said that another new feature would be rolled out at the earliest. This feature would estimate the time it would take for a passenger to reach baggage claim, and also when a person should call for an Uber ride, after deplaning.
The ride-hailing company mentioned that it was expanding its Uber Reserve offerings. This feature allows passengers to reserve a ride up to almost three months in advance. This will enable its users to complete all tasks such as booking flights, hotels and rides, at a similar time.
Uber rolled out these new features before Spring Break. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has predicted that there would be high volumes of passengers as travel across the nation is reverting to trends seen during pre-pandemic times.
