Donald Trump added names to his administrative team and future cabinet on Thursday and Friday. The President-elect nominated Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary and Pam Bondi as the nation’s Attorney General. Bondi replaces Matt Gaetz, the former Florida representative nominated by Trump but has stepped down due to controversy over his conduct while in office.

Future head of the Treasury Scott Bessent is a Yale alum, Key Square Group founder, and hedge fund manager. He was the former chief investment officer at the highly successful Soros Fund Management. Trump said his new appointee Bessent would help him bring in “a new Golden Age for the United States” and more. He has to be confirmed by the Senate.

Pam Bondi is the first female Attorney General in Florida. The 59-year-old lobbyist is a loyal supporter of Trump and has very little political baggage, unlike her predecessor, Gaetz. This could make her more acceptable across the GOP as this post also requires confirmation by the Senate.

Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer from Oregon has been picked to lead the Labor Department.
Dr. Janette Nesheiwat has been picked to serve as the U.S. Surgeon General.
Professor Marty Makary has been nominated as Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. David Weldon has been appointed Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Architect Russell Vought has been picked to oversee the Office of Management and Budget.
NFL veteran Scott Turner has been nominated to oversee the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Trump has chosen his team in record time this time around and wants to start implementing most, if not all, of his campaign promises as soon as possible. It appears that all his nominees might be confirmed without difficulty as the Republicans hold a majority in the Senate.
