Republican front-runner Donald Trump stopped at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia on Saturday and launched a new sneaker line. The former president held a pair of golden “Never Surrender high-tops” priced at $399 per pair during his surprise visit to the event.
At the launch, Trump said, “I have wanted to do this for a long time. I have some incredible people that work with me on things, and they came up with this…and I think it will be a big success.”
A website offers a range of products featuring the Trump name, including sneaker models priced at lower rates of $199 and perfume and cologne at $99. The website says CIC Ventures registers the word and associated designs. The company “45Footwear LLC uses the Trump name, image, and likeness under a license agreement which may be terminated or revoked according to its terms” and more.
Donald Trump could launch other lines with “never surrender” on items such as T-shirts and mugs. He has sold apparel with his mug shot from Fulton County Jail.
The former president has launched merchandise in the past, including digital trading cards. According to financial disclosure forms, these NFT cards were sold in April 2023 for $4.6 million. By the end of the year, he once again sold digital cards and generated revenue of $4.4 million.
Trump has also sold merchandise with his brand in the past, some of which include Trump Winery, owned by his son Eric Trump, and Trump Steaks, which Trump licensed.
On Friday, a New York judge ordered Trump to pay $355 million for a civil fraud case against him. He allegedly inflated the net worth of assets to get better deals from banks and insurers. He launched the sneakers campaign at Sneakers Con in Philadelphia on Saturday, the following day after he was fined.
