Trae Young poured in 31 points and the Atlanta Hawks took control early and fired away from 3-point range in a 134-102 romp past the host Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.

Atlanta’s Dyson Daniels shot 10-for-12 from the field while compiling 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Zaccharie Risacher notched 21 points and eight boards as the Hawks got back on track after a dismal loss to the Brooklyn Nets two days earlier.

The Hawks made 22 of their 45 3-point shots (48.9 percent) and shot 53.8 overall from the field. Onyeka Okongwu added 15 points and 10 rebounds and reserves Dominick Barlow and Terance Mann both provided 12 points for the Hawks, who finished 4-0 this season against Charlotte.

Seth Curry and DaQuan Jeffries both scored 19 points for the Hornets, who committed 17 turnovers. Marcus Garrett had 12 points, while Damion Baugh, Jusuf Nurkic, Wendell Moore Jr. and Nick Smith Jr. all had 11 points.

Charlotte center Mark Williams was held to four points in 23 minutes, with only three attempted shots from the field, while fellow starter Josh Green had two points in 20 minutes.

Just a game after having a nearly full-strength roster, Charlotte played without guard LaMelo Ball (right wrist soreness). Miles Bridges also was out based on what the team called a rest day.

Charlotte has lost back-to-back games following a stretch of three victories in four outings.

For the second game in a row, the Hornets surrendered at least 30 points in each of the first three quarters and fell into a big hole.

Risacher and Young each shot 5 of 9 from 3-point range for Atlanta. Young, who averaged 29.5 points per game in the four meetings with Charlotte this season, went 11-for-20 overall from the field.

Charlotte shot 10-for-30 from beyond the arc, with Curry accounting for four of the long-range baskets on six attempts.

Atlanta led 70-57 at halftime. Risacher bagged three 3-pointers in a 71-second span and the Hawks were up 79-59 less than two minutes into the third quarter.

The margin grew to 35 points late in the third period and never dipped below 26 in the fourth.
