Cameron Williams, a top-five prospect in the Class of 2026, committed on Friday to play for Duke.

After visiting Duke during the school’s Countdown to Craziness festivities in early October, the 6-foot-11 forward made his decision to join coach Jon Scheyer over opportunities at Arizona and Texas.

“I felt Coach Scheyer was cool, normal and authentic in what he said and did. I watched practice, and I saw he is not a crazy coach, but he does get intense. He gets along well with his players,” Williams told ESPN.

“The energy in that place was crazy, and it truly shows how much support the basketball team has from everyone.”

A senior out of Saint Mary’s High in Phoenix, Williams is ranked the No. 1 power forward and No. 4 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 by the 247Sports composite.

He played for the Compton Magic on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, averaging 15.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game and shooting 37 percent from the perimeter.

“Duke has everything I need to develop. They laid out a detailed plan on how I would fit,” Williams told ESPN. “Offensively, they play a five-out system, and they see me on the perimeter using my skill, shooting ability and versatility — but I will go inside when I have the advantage. Defensively, I can switch and protect the rim.”

The commitment from Williams is the third for Duke in the Class of 2026, with wing Bryson Howard — son of former NBA player Josh Howard — and center Maxime Meyer already on board with the Blue Devils.
