Top 25 roundup: No. 17 TCU rallies to knock off No. 19 Baylor

Chuck O’Bannon Jr. hit a go-ahead jumper with four seconds to play and Mike Miles Jr. scored a career-high 33 points as No. 17 TCU came from behind to beat No. 19 Baylor 88-87 on Wednesday in a Big 12 Conference battle in Waco, Texas.

The Bears led by 17 points with three minutes to play in the first half and 10 at halftime before TCU (13-1, 2-0 Big 12) charged back.

Miles hit a 3-pointer with 42 seconds remaining to bring the Horned Frogs within a point and then passed to O’Bannon for the deciding basket from just inside the arc. Baylor’s Keyonte George drove to the basket with a chance for the game-winning layup, but his shot was blocked by Xavier Cork to seal the win for TCU.

Baugh and Eddie Lampkin added 15 points each and Emanuel Miller had 13 for TCU, which has won 11 straight games. George, a freshman, poured in a career-high 27 points for the Bears (10-4, 0-2). Flagler and LJ Cryer added 13 apiece.

Providence 73, No. 4 UConn 61

Bryce Hopkins tossed in a game-high 27 points to help the Friars extend their winning streak to eight games by beating the visiting Huskies.

Hopkins, a transfer from Kentucky, made both of his 3-point attempts and was 13 of 15 from the free-throw line before he fouled out with 1:02 to play. He finished 6 of 12 from the floor and added five rebounds.

UConn was within five points with 5:46 to play, but Providence went on a 9-0 run to take a 69-55 lead with 1:39 remaining on two free throws by Hopkins. Noah Locke added 17 points for the Friars (13-3, 5-0 Big East).

Georgia Tech 76, No. 12 Miami 70

Lance Terry scored a season-high 24 points and Miles Kelly added 20 to help the Yellow Jackets stun the Hurricanes in Atlanta and end their nine-game winning streak.

It is Georgia Tech’s first win over a ranked team since beating No. 15 Florida State in the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. Terry was 8-for-13 from the field and 4-for-5 from 3-point range, with six rebounds. Kelly had three 3-pointers and was 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.

Miami (13-2, 4-1 ACC) got 17 points and eight rebounds from Norchad Omier, who fouled out, and 17 points from Jordan Miller. Nijel Pack scored 13 points, sinking three 3-pointers. The Hurricanes had won seven straight conference games on the road.

No. 13 Arkansas 74, No. 20 Missouri 68

Ricky Council IV scored 25 points as the No. 13 Razorbacks rallied from a 17-point deficit in the first half to defeat the No. 20 Tigers in the Southeastern Conference matchup in Fayetteville, Ark.

Joseph Pinion scored 13 points and Davonte Davis added 10 for Arkansas (12-2, 1-1 SEC).

Sean East II scored 13 points, Nick Honor had 12 and Kobe Brown added 11 for Missouri (12-2, 1-1).

North Carolina State 84, No. 16 Duke 60

Terquavion Smith scored 24 points and the Wolfpack upset the Blue Devils in Raleigh, N.C., ending a three-game losing streak to Duke.

Smith shot 8 of 19 for the Wolfpack (12-4, 2-3 ACC) and also had three rebounds. Jarkel Joiner added 21 points and nine assists, while DJ Burns Jr. chipped in 18 points off the bench.

Duke (11-4, 2-2) was led by Kyle Filipowski’s 14 points and eight rebounds. Dariq Whitehead added 12 points while Ryan Young had 11.

Georgia 76, No. 22 Auburn 64

Terry Roberts scored a game-high 26 points and Kario Oquendo added 17 to lead the Bulldogs past the Tigers in Southeastern Conference play at Athens, Ga.

Roberts shot 8 of 16 from the field, including 1 of 4 from distance, and went 9 of 12 from the free-throw line to go along with two assists. Oquendo shot 6 of 10 from the field, including 3 of 5 from deep, and added four rebounds. The Bulldogs (11-3, 1-0 SEC) have won four straight and seven of their past eight games.

Auburn (11-3, 1-1), which saw a two-game winning streak come to an end, was led by Johni Broome, who had 22 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Allen Flanigan added 11 points.

No. 23 College of Charleston 92, North Carolina A&T 79

Dalton Bolon scored 22 points as the Cougars looked the part of a newly ranked team by trouncing the Aggies at Greensboro, N.C.

Charleston, playing for the first time with a national ranking in two decades, won its 14th game in a row and led by 30 points at one juncture.

Ante Brzovic and Pat Robinson III each scored 12 points and Ben Burnham and Raekwon Horton each had 11. Ryan Larson scored all eight of his points in the first half for College of Charleston (15-1, 3-0 Colonial Athletic Association). Kam Woods scored 30 points for North Carolina A&T (6-10, 1-2), which was playing in its first CAA home game

No. 25 Iowa State 63, Oklahoma 60

Caleb Grill scored 20 points, capped by a tiebreaking 3-pointer from the top of the key with 33 seconds left, to lead the Cyclones over the Sooners in Norman, Okla.

Grill sank 5 of 9 3-point attempts for the Cyclones (11-2, 2-0 Big 12), who got 12 points and eight rebounds from Osun Osunniyi and 10 points from Jaren Holmes.

Jalen Hill led the Sooners (9-5, 0-2) with 16 points, while Tanner Groves added 15 points and eight rebounds.
