After trailing for more than 35 minutes, No. 11 UCLA rallied and got the winning basket from Adem Bona with 19 seconds left to beat Washington State 67-66 on Friday in Pullman, Wash.

UCLA (12-2, 3-0 Pac-12 Conference) scored the first five points but gave up a 12-2 Washington State run that put the Cougars ahead for the rest of the night — until the closing seconds.

Bruins guard Jaime Jaquez Jr. was aggressive down the stretch, scoring eight of his game-high 20 points over the final 6:27, including a pair of free throws with 50 seconds left to pull UCLA within a point. Tyger Campbell finished with 16 points in UCLA’s ninth straight win.

DJ Rodman led Washington State (5-9, 0-3) with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Mouhamed Gueye scored 18 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, while Jabe Mullins connected on 3 of 7 3-point attempts en route to 11 points.

No. 14 Miami (Fla.) 76, Notre Dame 65

Nijel Pack posted 21 points and four steals as the Hurricanes won their ninth straight game, defeating the host Fighting Irish in an ACC game at South Bend, Ind.

Miami (13-1, 4-0 ACC) also got 18 points and seven rebounds from Norchad Omier. Isaiah Wong shot 7-for-7 from the foul line and finished with 15 points, and Jordan Miller added 12 points. Pack, a transfer from Kansas State, shot 8-for-13 from the floor, including 5-for-8 on 3-pointers. He had game highs in points, steals and 3-pointers.

The Fighting Irish (8-6, 0-3) were led by Trey Wertz, who had 15 points. Dane Goodwin added 14 points, and Marcus Hammond scored 12 points off the bench. Irish center Nate Laszewski had a near double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

No. 15 Wisconsin 76, Western Michigan 66

Steven Crowl scored 20 of his career-high 25 points in the second half to lift the Badgers to a nonconference victory over the Broncos in Madison, Wis.

Wisconsin (10-2), which has won five straight, was playing for the first time since a 78-56 home victory over Lehigh on Dec. 15. Crowl finished 9 of 13 from the floor, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Chucky Hepburn added 11 points for the Badgers and Tyler Wahl had 10.

Tray Maddox Jr. had 16 points and Lamar Norman Jr. added 12 for Western Michigan (4-9), which has not beaten a Big Ten team since defeating Michigan 56-52 on Nov. 30, 2002.

Pitt 76, No. 25 North Carolina 74

Jamarius Burton poured in a career-high 31 points and the host Panthers used good efficiency across the last 12 minutes for a comeback victory against the ranked Tar Heels.

Blake Hinson added 16 points and Nelly Cummings had nine points to boost the Panthers (10-4, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) in their conference home opener. The Tar Heels made it tight by scoring the last five points in the final 10 seconds. They made just one 3-point shot in the second half in nine tries.

Armando Bacot racked up 22 points and 13 rebounds, but North Carolina (9-5, 1-2) had a four-game winning streak snapped. RJ Davis had 16 points and Pete Nance posted 10 for the Tar Heels.
