Despite a loss to in-state rival Indiana, Purdue remains No. 1 team in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.

It was the third straight week atop the poll for the Boilermakers (22-2), who were a unanimous pick last week but received 38 of 62 first-place votes this week. No. 2 Houston (22-2) got 22 votes and was followed by Alabama (20-3), Arizona (21-3) and Texas (19-4), which rose five spots from last week.

The Crimson Tide and Wildcats got one first-place vote each.

Entering the poll for the first time since 2019 was No. 22 North Carolina State (19-5), which has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2018.

Tennessee (19-4), last week’s No. 2, dropped to No. 6, with UCLA (19-4), Virginia (17-4), Kansas (18-5) and Marquette (19-5) rounding out the top 10.

For Marquette, it marks the first top 10 appearance since 2019.

No. 23 Creighton (15-8) and No. 24 Rutgers (16-7) returned to the poll as Florida Atlantic, Clemson and Auburn dropped out.
