Today Your Facebook Home Page Gets a New Design

Facebook  is dividing its main “home” area into two tabs as of Thursday. In order to effectively compete with rivals like TikTok for users’ time and attention, Facebook is making an effort to show users more engaging, recommended content and to become what cofounder Mark Zuckerberg has referred to as a “discovery engine.”

In order to make it easier for you to find the most current posts from your friends, favorites, pages, and groups, Facebook is    introducing the Feeds tab. In this new tab, you may filter the content of your favorite friends and Pages by compiling a Favorites list of them.

“Starting today, some people will see Feeds as a tab in their shortcut bar; on iOS, this bar is found at the bottom of the app, and on Android, it’s found at the top. We expect these updates to be rolled out globally over the next week. The tabs in the shortcut bar change based on the parts of the app you’re using the most. You can also personalize and pin a tab in your shortcut bar, making its placement permanent.” Source Facebook  Newsroom.

When you open Facebook to browse fresh material, the tab you see first is now called Home. You may quickly browse Reels and Stories from home and receive tailored recommendations.

Users will now see a home tab when they open Facebook (FB), which is intended to assist them in finding new material based on tailored, machine learning-powered recommendations. Facebook (FB) Stories and Instagram Reels, which the firm is now encouraging users to share to both platforms, will also be shown on the main tab.

There will be a new “feeds” page next to the main tab, which won’t offer any suggested material but will instead allow users to subscribe to view their followed groups and sites as well as their friends’ most recent posts. Users can also create a “favorites” feed within the feeds tab to filter the friends, pages, and groups that are most important to them.

According to the company, adverts would still be shown on both tabs. Additionally, the other tabs that users are accustomed to, such Facebook Watch and Groups, will not change.
