Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus are getting divorced after almost thirty years of married life, though there have been separations and reconciliations. Billy Ray Cyrus is a popular country singer, who also starred in the extremely popular Hannah Montana show by Disney, where he played the reel life father to real life daughter, Miley Cyrus, who played Hannah Montana.

TMZ reported that court documents showed that Tish had filed for divorce last week. Actor, producer Trish and the 1992 hit song “Achy Breaky Heart” singer have 5 children and their youngest Noah is 22-years old so there would be no custody battle.

The documents filed on Wednesday in a court in Williamson County in Tennessee and obtained by the outlet state that Tish, 54 and Billy Ray, 60 have not lived together for over two years. They were last seen together in 2020. The reason for the divorce is listed as “irreconcilable differences.”

Miley Cyrus’ mother is asking for an equal split of all their marital assets. This is their third divorce application as Billy Ray had filed for divorce in 2010 but it was called off. Then Tish filed for divorce three years later and again it was called off. However, they did go for couples therapy after they got back together in 2013, according to a report in US Weekly.

Tish and Billy Ray got married in 1993. The marriage took place in their living room in Franklin, Tennessee. They have five children: the extremely popular singer Miley Cyrus, 29, pop singer-song writer Noah Cyrus 22, Brandi, 34, Trace 33, and Braison, 27.

In 2016, in an interview with PEOPLE, Billy Ray said that he and his wife had experienced a lot of ups and downs in their relationship and said that they took “one day at a time.” He also said that he thought that one of the most important things in life and in a relationship was “you make adjustments. “
