Anthony Edwards scored 28 points on 11-for-19 shooting, and the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away for a 118-103 win over the visiting Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night in Minneapolis.
Edwards had two points at halftime before erupting for 26 points in the second half for Minnesota, which won its second game in as many nights and its fourth in a row. Naz Reid scored 20 points off the bench as the Timberwolves improved to 17-2 at home.
Rudy Gobert posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota. Mike Conley also notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists.
Jaren Jackson Jr. scored a game-high 36 points on 15-for-23 shooting to lead Memphis. Luke Kennard shot 5 of 7 from beyond the arc and finished with 18 points for the Grizzlies, who have lost three of their past four games.
The Timberwolves outscored the Grizzlies 37-17 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Memphis led 89-85 with 10:47 to go after a free throw by GG Jackson.
Minnesota promptly seized control with an 11-0 run to go ahead 96-89 with 8:20 left. Conley scored eight straight points during the run and assisted on the final basket, which was a 3-pointer by Nickeil Alexander-Walker.
Memphis trailed the rest of the way.
The Grizzlies led 86-81 at the end of the third quarter.
Kennard sparked Memphis with four 3-pointers in the third quarter. He also had a three-point play with a layup and a free throw to give him 15 points in the quarter.
Edwards nearly matched Kennard with 14 points in the third quarter for Minnesota. That included a highlight-reel play in which Edwards lobbed a pass to himself off the backboard from behind the free-throw line and sprinted toward the rim to dunk it.
Memphis led 55-50 at halftime.
Jaren Jackson Jr. led all scorers with 23 points before the break. Naz Reid paced the Timberwolves with 13 points.
The score was tied at 30-30 at the end of the first quarter.
